Juanita Mendicuti Ortega (Rotterdam, NL) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work moves fluidly between image making, fabric reconstruction, and graphic design. Born in Rotterdam with Mexican roots, she builds visual worlds that explore heritage, displacement, identity, and the layered meanings of “home.”
Juanita believes identity is something you actively build, not something you simply inherit. Her work is personal yet expansive, rooted in her own journey while resonating with navigating culture, migration, and self-definition.
Her ongoing practice, EvilSpiritWorld, represents both her creative universe and her way of transforming lived experience into visual language, always driven by the conviction that you don’t have to fit someone else’s preconception of what you should be.
